Tutorial: Copy a trader yourself

A Preset copies a lineup for you. This is the other thing you can do: pick one trader, decide how much of your money each of their trades gets and when you get out, and let Polyburg mirror them onto your wallet. Everything below is in Simple mode — no mode switch needed. Labels in bold are what you’ll see on screen.

Before you start: an active membership and a funded wallet — the first three steps of Tutorial: Invest in a Preset cover both. Investing in a Preset first is not required, but it’s the easiest way to meet traders worth copying.

Open the Copy tab

  1. Tap Copy in the bottom bar. You’ll see: a page titled Copy. Under the title, a badge — Polyburg algo-curated traders · See how it works › — and the line Copy a trader at your own size and exits. Then up to three sections, stacked:
    • YOUR COPIES — the traders you already copy directly. Absent until you copy someone.
    • FROM YOUR PRESETS — the lineup of each Preset you hold, under You copy these through Smart — tap one to copy them directly. Absent if you hold no Preset.
    • Top traders — ranked by settled edge — the curated list, ordered by what copying each trader has actually paid on settled positions. Two chips under the heading: Copier’s pick (the default) and 90-day P&L; How we rank › opens the one-screen explanation. Rows with data carry a chip like Edge 47.6¢ / share — read it against a ~1¢ tick: under ~2¢ is eaten by fees, negative means settled positions lost. Full explanation: How we rank. At the very bottom: All filters & tools live in Advanced mode › — the filter panel, bot chips and wallet lookup belong to Advanced mode; you don’t need them for this.

Pick a trader

  1. Tap a trader — from FROM YOUR PRESETS if you hold a Preset (you already have money riding on these people), or from TOP TRADERS. You’ll see: the trader’s profile, opened right here on the Copy tab — the back link reads ← Back to Copy whichever section you came from. From a Preset’s lineup the name also carries the eyebrow One of Smart’s traders. (Tap a trader from the Presets tab’s lineup instead, and the back link reads ← Back to Smart and returns you there.)
  2. Read the record before you decide:
    • Identity — name (or a shortened wallet address), and a copy-address icon.
    • Traits — badges from the list, each with a one-line meaning; the pace badge (Patient / Active / Intense) tells you how soon your first copy is likely to fire.
    • Edge (settled) — the tile under the badges: the trader’s settled edge (or when there’s no settled-book data in this run) with a sub-line like 178 settled · 63% won · qualifies for Copier’s pick. Tap it for the explainer. A positive edge with a healthy settled count is the strongest single signal on this screen; a negative one is a warning even when the chart is green.
    • Assets and P&L — how much they run and how it’s gone.
    • The P&L chart with 1D / 7D / 30D / 90D, and a daily calendar (green up-days, red down-days).
    • Positions / Activity — what they hold now, and what they did recently. A good copy candidate has a chart that climbs in many small steps, not one spike. The Trader Discovery page explains what the list already filtered out for you.

Tap Copy this trader

  1. Tap the sticky Copy this trader button at the bottom of the profile. You’ll see: the Copy sheet, titled Copy <name>. Two things can interrupt here, both fixable in a minute: no membership yet → the sheet Membership needed to copy traders (see the first tutorial); no funded wallet yet → you’re sent to Deposit.

Decision 1 — Size per trade

  1. Under Size per trade, tap $10, $25, $50 or $100, or type your own amount in the $ field. You’ll see: the button at the bottom update to your number. The pre-selected chip is Polyburg’s suggestion: about a tenth of your balance, never more than $50, never under $5. Every copied trade gets up to this amount — if the trader’s position is small, yours is too.

Decision 2 — Risk

  1. Under Risk, pick a card:
CardWhat it saysMeaning
CautiousStop −10% · Take +25%sell a position at a 10% loss or a 25% gain
StandardStop −20% · Take +50%the default
AggressiveStop −30% · Take +100%ride further both ways
CustomSet SL/TP yourselftwo sliders appear: Stop loss and Take profit

You’ll see: the terms under the button change to match. Not sure? Standard is the sensible start; you can change it later without touching your positions.

Decision 3 — Sell when they sell

  1. Under Mirror exits, the Sell when they sell switch is on. Its one-line rationale: Closes your position when the trader closes theirs. Leave it on if copying means “do what they do” to you — your stop and take-profit still guard the downside. Turn it off only if you’d rather your own exits decide.

Read the commitment, then start

  1. Look at the button and the two lines under it. They are the whole deal, in numbers:

Start copying · $25 / trade Up to $25 per copied trade · auto-sell at −20% / +50% Copied in <1s via dedicated node · pause anytime

Every copied trade pays Polyburg’s normal trading fee, the same as any other trade. 9. Tap Start copying · $25 / trade. You’ll see: the sheet’s title change to Copying started and the headline You’re copying <name>, with three rows — Per trade ($25), Auto-sell (−20% / +50%), Sell when they sell (On) — and a sentence telling you when to expect the first fill, phrased for this trader’s pace:

  • Your first copy fires the next time they trade — they trade less than once a day, so give it a day or more.
  • … they trade a few times a day, so usually within hours.
  • … they trade many times a day, so usually well within the hour. Then Adjust or pause anytime — right here, or in the Copy tab., a Done button, and Fine-tune advanced settings › for anyone who wants the full form (skip it — the defaults are the recommended ones).
  1. Tap Done. You’ll see: the profile again, its button now reading ✓ Copying · $25/trade — tap to adjust.

Living with it

Where it shows up

  1. Copy tab → YOUR COPIES — one row: avatar, name, the terms in one line — $25 · SL 20% · TP 50% · Follow-sell — and a pill reading Copying. Tap the row to adjust.
  2. The trader’s profile — the sticky button reads ✓ Copying · $25/trade — tap to adjust.
  3. Presets tab → Other positions — the positions your copies open, with their exits, so nothing is ever more than a tap from a sell.

When a copy fires

  1. You don’t need to be in the app — mirroring runs on Polyburg’s servers. When you are in the app, each fill arrives as a toast at the top of the screen for about ten seconds: 🟢 a copied buy, a sell mirrored from the trader, a stop-loss or take-profit exit, ⚠️ a copy skipped because your balance couldn’t cover it. A persistent banner means the copy engine itself is paused (rare, and never about your account alone).

Copy fills are silent on Telegram, by design. No message arrives for a buy, a sell or a stop. Deposits, withdrawals and membership notices still come as Telegram messages; fills you see in the app. Open Copy → YOUR COPIES or Presets → Other positions whenever you want to check.

Adjust

  1. Tap the row (or the profile button). You’ll see: the same three decisions, the button now reading Save · $25 / trade, plus an Advanced settings row summarising what the three decisions don’t cover — fresh markets on · scalper guard on · slippage 5.0%.
  2. Change size, risk or the switch, then tap Save · $N / trade. You’ll see: the row’s terms line update. Positions you already hold keep the terms they were opened with; the change applies from the next copy.

Stop

  1. In the sheet, tap Stop copying. You’ll see: a confirmation — Stop copying <name>? Open positions stay until you sell them. Confirm. Then: a toast — Stopped copying <name>. Open positions stay until you sell them. — the row’s pill reads Off, and the profile button reads ⏸ Copying is off for this trader — tap to turn on. Nothing you hold is sold. New copies simply stop.

Resume

  1. Tap the Off row (or the profile button). You’ll see: the sheet with a banner — Copying is off — positions you already hold are untouched. Save to resume, or remove this trader from your list below. — and the button reading Resume · $25 / trade. Tap it, and the pill returns to Copying.

Remove

  1. Only while a copy is Off, the sheet offers Remove from your list. You’ll see: a confirmation — Remove <name> from your list? Positions you already hold are untouched; your trade history is kept. Confirm, and the row disappears (toast: Removed <name> from your list.). You can copy them again any time from the Copy tab; it starts fresh.

What the pills mean

  1. A trader you copy is normally Copying or Off (you stopped it). Two more can appear when something outside the sheet is in the way:
    • Needs funds — your balance can’t cover the per-trade size. Add funds, or lower the size.
    • Stopped — your membership has lapsed. Renew on the Wallet tab and it resumes.

Using Advanced mode? The same Copy tab there is titled Copy · Traders you copy. and adds two things: Shared rules — advanced (one rule following several traders at once) and, via Fine-tune advanced settings, the full settings form with its collapsed Advanced — recommended defaults on section — market filters, price bounds, budget and execution. All of it is described on the Copy Trade page. Nothing in it is needed to copy one trader well.
